
Welcome to West Street Centre
The West Street Counselling Centre is a professional therapy practice, established by Dr Julie May in 2011. We are a group of Counsellors and Psychotherapists working together from a bespoke and discrete location, situated in the main retail and business area of Fareham.
We offer a comfortable, relaxed environment, within which to be heard and supported. To ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained, all counsellors and psychotherapists at the practice are registered members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Our Counselling & Psychotherapy practice is within easy reach of Portsmouth, Southampton, Gosport, Cosham and Havant, with excellent road access from the M27 and A27 and public transport access from the town centre bus and train stations.
What We Do
Working together in group practice enables us to offer both Counselling and Psychotherapy in Fareham in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. We have studied different models of Counselling and Psychotherapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic and Gestalt. Support is available for individuals, couples, children and young people. Specialists within the team can offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing), deafness and disability counselling. Clinical supervision for Counsellors and Psychotherapists is also available at the practice.

Dr Julie May is a very experienced and professional Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor, having been in practice for over 20 years and continued her studies to the highest, advanced academic level. She holds Registered Senior Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist membership with the Professional Body, the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and an obligation to work within the their code of practice known as The Ethical Framework.
Julie works full time at The West Street Centre, managing her own client caseload and supporting her colleagues. She has an avid interest in research and in ensuring that the highest professional standards are maintained within the team.
